No regrets

A little while ago, I wrote that I regretted England not lifting the World Cup under Sven Goreng Erikkson.

I take that back.

Anyone who thought Erikkson would be a good manager needs to look deep down inside and ask themselves where they get such ideas.

So those that sided with Erikkson, deserve this parting.

I said this then and I’ll say it again, ‘Good riddance to the worst manager England has ever seen’.

World Cup 2014 – Brazil

It’s that time of every 4 years again! The World Cup is back!

It’s also been that long since I wrote in this blog.

I thought it would be a good idea to write about this years’ Brazil World Cup. My bet is on Brazil winning on home ground. They’re got the 12th player all over the place. Can’t imagine the sight and sound there!

As a special note, I know two lucky people who will be in Brazil this year. Would be great to hear their point of view.

I know I’ve been a fan of England all this while, but the golden generation is gone. (Sob Sob). Regretfully, I haven’t been following the English Premier League so don’t really know who to watch out for. But I guess the World Cup will be a crash course on who’s dependable and who’s not.

On a side note, I’m still a big fan of David Beckham, who’s been featured in thi’s site. (Yes, I’m having sleepless nights wishing it worked back then when Beckam was in the squad and tension was ablaze on England’s chances at the World Cup. Who was that idiot to fcuk things up again? Oh yeah, Sven ‘Goreng’ Erikkson). As I miss the days when Beckham, ever so reliable, hit the pitch, I wonder how this new generation of England players will do. Its amazing how some people don’t know how we fans feel about them. Oh hang on, dwindling sponsorship deals may have something to do with that. Darn it. No Beckham on cereal boxes then. Now, if only that irritating ad for Christiano Ronaldo will come to end.

For those of you not in the know, I have a hate-hate relationship with Ronaldo ever since a previous World Cup. Yes, the same one where Portugal cheated England of a spot in the semi finals through El Winker. I will be looking forward to Ronaldo’s downfall this year. Drats KFC for plastering his face all over Jalan Sultan Ismail near the KFC building.

So, that’s it for now. You have a glimpse over who I think will win, who I think should win and who I think don’t deserve to win.

See you all this World Cup season!

Under performing England

Fabio Capello may risk being shot at when he gets back to England.

What an utterly uninspiring performance the Three Lions have put in in the World Cup so far. Two draws and they risk being eliminated. The next match against Slovenia is a must win for the English. So much for their much publicized easy draw!

So far, some underdogs had sprang surprises and mega giants has been held to draws or even loses.

Just ask favourites Spain about their 1-0 lost to Switzerland.

What’s causing these disappointing results?

Watching the World Cup, I have to say that the established teams could play better. At times, it seems they’re not really going all out for a goal fiesta. Just 1-0 and they’ll be satisfied. Hence giving ample opportunity for the underdogs to prevail.
